Review – The Promotion

You would think with Seann William Scott and John C. Reilly, that “The Promotion” would be a non-stop riot, absolute hilarity, you laughed so hard you peeped your pants. Well you might have peeped your pants, but only as an excuse to get out of watching the rest of this movie. The movie was so f*cking dull!! You keep waiting for something funny to happy, but it never comes. There are some mildly amusing bits, but that’s it.

For some reason, the makers of the film (I’m not sure if it’s the director or the writer) get hung up on particular facts that they think are funny. For example, the John C. Reilly character is French Canadian. Which I’m guessing the filmmakers find to the funniest thing ever. So they have to remind us of this fact almost every time that we see Reilly’s character. It’s like when Saturday Night Live does a sketch and it’s dead in the water, but they have 5 minutes to fill and so they keep going with it, hoping the audience is going to laugh.
