Review – Get Smart

Get Smart

I was a fan of this show as a kid. So when I heard they wanted to make an updated movie, I cringed a little. Considering how most of this remakes turn out. (They look and feel nothing like the original)

While Steve Carell is no Don Adams, I think he does a really good job with the character. The rest of the supporting cast was kind of so so. The story was all right, nothing ground breaking or earth shattering. I found the comedic bits funny, but the action scenes kind of fall flat.

So while I enjoyed the film, I don’t think I’d watch it again. So I wouldn’t recommend buying the Blu-Ray or DVD.

Overall Verdict: Rent It!

I gotta say that I did kind of enjoy watching this the other night. It wasn't as bad as I had prepared myself for it to be. Steve C. made the film as he always does.

Actually, since I was a fan of the original, I didn’t expect to like this in the least, but then it wasn’t too bad.

What I found though, was that the second time I saw it – cuz it was on TV one night – I enjoyed it more than the first time.

So maybe give it some time and then when you see it come on TV again, watch it again. Maybe you won’t think it’s as bad.
