Uh Oh

by Lyndon on October 29, 2008

I’m becoming one of those negligentful blog owners! Too distracted by the outside forces on his life. It’s not my fault!! I can’t help it if I like looking at Pushing Daisies, Dexter and catching the occasional basketball game (Go Raptors, Go!!) I’m only human, damn it.

Plus I’m still getting the hang of using my Mac. It’s not that it’s a difficult transition from the PC world! I just have a habit of wanting to try every new program that I can get my hands on. Hey, there was a lot of Mac only software that I could never use. Or some programs that seem to run better than their Windows counter parts.

Like everything, blogging goes in cycles. One day you have so much to say, you think your going to overwhelm your readers. Other days, your site is like a ghost town. No signs of life anywhere ;)

I promise I’ll try to post more than once this week!! Honest, or you can hold some sort of blogging intervention :D

Later…

What? You’ve let your life interfere with blogging? Shame on you!

By the way, I didn’t know the Raptors exactly had any fans.

I hope you’re still enjoying that Mac. The Hawg is a big jealous, what with being stuck in the PC world and all. Fortunately, I’ve not had to upgrade to that Vista garbage yet.

I agree about blogging. I tend to have long periods of writer’s block… a week or more.

I luuuurve Pushing Daisies, but I have noticed that the music soundtrack seems louder this year, often making it difficult to hear the narration. I have to crank the volume on my tv! (Or maybe I”m just morphing into old, hard-of-hearing Nat!)

I’m still in a blogging funk, Lyndon. I’m even considering giving it up altogether, since blogger is deleting music posts all over the place, including a couple of mine. I could move, but I don’t know that I have the drive to do so. After 5 1/2 years, it might be time to move on.

We all go through peaks and valleys. I’m in a blogging valley right now and for the month of November it may look like a ghost town, But that’s because I’ll be NaNoWriMo’ing it. You should join me in my madness. http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/138481

Sometimes I’ll write, even when I have nothing to say - or at least nothing interesting to say, just because I feel compelled. It may be boring, especially considering that I’ve had a website since 1998 - and half the time I wonder whether I’ve written about something before already.

It’s good to have a break when you need one. There are times I don’t write for days - those times when I’ve got really, really nothing to say. That doesn’t feel far off right now.

@ Hawg - I know, I’ve been a bad blogger! Yes the Raptors do still have fans, but not many ;) I’d skip Vista and wait for Windows 7, looks like it will be a big improvement over the last one.

@ Michael - I’ve seen that, but you usually come back!! I just hate that you don’t do full posts and you have to click if you want to read your post. I tend to avoid a lot of sites like that; but it’s probably just me.

@ Nat - Glad to have another Pushing Daisies fan!! The soundtrack has always been a little on the loud side. Or maybe the actors have light voices?? Hope you don’t give up blogging completely, but if you do; you’ve had an amazing run. If you do go and still feel the need to blog, your welcome to do a guest post, anytime you want!

@ Scott - I’ve already subscribe to your blogging madness, just waiting on your posts :)

@ Jafer - You are a trooper!! It’s still a good habit to post whatever you’ve got. I just can never get myself to do though.

Michael 10.31.08 at 12:50 am

I’m the opposite; I don’t like long posts without the more link.

jafer 10.31.08 at 8:32 pm

No, I agree, Lyndon, I hate the more thing - probably why I hardly ever use it. I guess I don’t feel that the first or second sentence may give the idea of whatever the post will turn into, so unless I’ve got the longest post in history, I never use the More thing.

Ah I love Pushing Daisies too! My husband hates it though so I have to watch it on my own.

I hope that you and your Mac are getting along! ;)
