Anyone But Harper

by Lyndon on October 13, 2008

Anyone who knows me, knows that I usually avoid politics like a zombie or some sort of plague. But every once in awhile there is someone or some party that scares me so much. I can’t sit idly by and not speak up.

Stephen Harper and the Conservative Party scare the living daylights out of me. I don’t know if it’s the blatant lying, which they seen to be able to do without any remorse or apprehension. Don’t get me wrong, most of the parties will lie and tell you anything to get into power. Once they have it, they just seem to go along with whatever their agenda is! But here’s a few of my favorite from Stephen and his party.

Harper & his LIES from AnyoneButHarper.ca on Vimeo.

You would think the lies that are costing us money, would be the major reason that I don’t want them in power. But I’m so used to the ruling government wasting are hard earned tax dollars, I’m kind of cynical of all of them.

No what really scares me is Bill C-61!! While they were a minority government, the Harper Conservative bill got squashed. But if they win a majority, they’ll be able to pass it without any opposition. If history is any indicator, when Harper gets an idea; he’ll do anything to make sure he gets his way.

So please, for the love of Gawd. I’m begging you, only because it’s illegal to give you any incentive to vote one way or another. When you go to the polls, vote for any other party then Harper and the Conservatives. Heck vote for a llama if you want, it would probably do a better job than the rest of them.

My name is Lyndon and I approve of this message!!

Against the law to back up DRM-protected music you PAID FOR? THat is ridiculous!

They’re zapping the fun out of just about everything these days. I hope that law doesn’t pass in Canada!

I feel the same way. I wrote a post about tonight’s election on my blog and as I said in the post I don’t like to disclose my political beliefs but I will admit that there’s no way in hell I’d ever vote for Harper. I don’t trust him either.

Looks like it’s another minority government. Why did we bother going through this election since we ended up with just about the same results? Hmmm just so Harper could stay on an extra two years (ie previous two, plus four for this government if the minority doesn’t collapse around him?). Maybe that was his strategy all along ….

Well, I voted, but I knew he’d be in again; I almost made a bet with my daughter who was trying to find out my vote and influence me, but then she’s got no money to bet with anyway (and neither do I with Harper at the helm).
