Every time I think I’m out, they pull me back in!! I got tagged by The Natural State Hawg to do the six unspectacular quirks meme.
The rules are fairly simple if you want to participate or if you’ve been tagged.
- Link to the person who tagged you.
- Mention the rules.
- Tell six unspectacular quirks of yours.
- Tag six bloggers by linking.
- Leave a comment for each blogger.
A whole six quirks!! Oh where to begin…
1. I like grapes but I hate raisins. Yes I know they are both essentially the same thing. But for whatever reason I just don’t like raisins.
2. Although I love coffee, I never drink it at home. I usually drink tea! The only tea that I drink in public is Chai lattes.
3. Even though I was born and raised in Canada, I can’t stand watching hockey on television. I’ll play it in the streets, in a video game or on a pond. But don’t ask my to watch it on television, please!!
4. I was taught to cook by a blind woman (my mom), my father and a copious amount of the Food Network. Well at least when the Food Network actually showed cooking shows instead of all that reality crap. I learned so much from Anthony Bourdain, Mario Batali, Martin Yan and Emeril Lagasse (Well before he got the live show)
5. Once I learn the name of a song, I can usually name it after a few beats or a few words from the lyrics.
6. I’ve never held a 9 to 5 job in my adult life!! I am the living embodiment of “The Life of Riley“ I guess it helps I have no significant other (benefit of being short, fat and ugly) or kids or major expenses. Combined with my thriftiness and budgeting skills, I’m usually able to get by with little cash. (No I’m not on welfare, I make my money from blogging) I could work harder, but I’ve never really been inspired to do so.
Well that’s it, now the tricky part; tagging six other bloggers. Most of the people I know, aren’t posting very regularly. Plus some of them may have been tagged before, which makes it more difficult.
So to the six of you I tag, if you’ve done it before. Tell me in the comments and leave a link to the post.
- Nat from Mini-Obs
- Ivanhoe from Commuique by Ivanhoe
- Scott from Spiritual Tramp
- MCF from Nexus of Improbability
- Sonia from Quantum Leaps
- Tricia from Tricia’s Musings
Later…

Ah! I knew that would be interesting. I’m a bit jealous however — I’d love to support myself from blogging because jobs suck. Oh, well.
Thanks for agreeing to participate in this. These things are a lot of fun, I think…

Thanks for the tag :o) I just did it last week so here is the linky for you:

I wish I could live off of blogging as well. I’m not crazy about the job I have right now. Constantly looking for something better. I’m actually starting school next week to change career alltogether.
nat 08.19.08 at 10:17 am
I will post this tomorrow, but I can’t officially participate, since I won’t tag other peeps!
So, what was your latest kitchen creation, having been taught by the best?!
Lyndon 08.19.08 at 5:28 pm
@ Hawg - Don’t be too jealous, I get by. But things are taking a bit of a down turn, so I could be rejoining the work force soon.
@ Ivanhoe - Nuts!! Got beaten to the punch. Sorry for tagging you again.
@ Nat - You know you can still tag people, its not like they have to do it
As far as kitchen creations go, nothing much lately. Since my dads early retirement, he’s taken over kitchen duties.

Yes, making money blogging… how the hell does that happen? Tell me. I’d like to make money by blogging, even if it was a little bit of money. I’d like to make money doing anything, Christ knows I don’t have time for anything that would take some work from me.
Lyndon 08.19.08 at 7:07 pm
@ jafer - Making money online is like anything in life young Padawan! It involves time, effort and bit of luck.
Depending on how talented you are, it may also involve selling a bit of your soul in the pursuit of the almighty dollar as well.
There’s lots of sites to help you get started, Problogger.net, Shoemoney and John Chow are a few that come to mind. They’re way more knowledgeable on the subject of making money than I am. You should check them out if your interested.

This is an interesting list. Not drinking coffee at home would be the end of me! More power to you.
Ivanhoe 08.20.08 at 8:33 am
Please don’t apologize, I don’t mind being tagged. Just be the first one to tag me next time, o.k.? :o)
Lyndon 08.20.08 at 2:12 pm
@ Sandy - I feel the same way about coffee or tea. I admit if I don’t have a cup a day, I’m just plain miserable.
@ Ivanhoe - I can’t help it, I’m Canadian; apologizing is what we do!

For the past 12 years, I’ve had nothing BUT 9-5 jobs plus side work with bands on weekends. I live with my folks, am also short, fat & ugly, and I’ve never made a dime off my blog. Clearly, I’m doing something very, very wrong.
I’ll probably get to this meme by Friday or Saturday; will be back with a link when I do.

am hopping from WS..it’s kind of inspiring to know that you can actually make a living out of blogging. yes, i make money from it but not enough to actually live on it full time. i still need my 9 to 5 job, however boring it can be. that makes me jealous of your full-time blogging work:)
Lyndon 08.21.08 at 2:08 pm
@ MCF - Your not doing anything wrong, you just don’t monetize as much as some of us. If it makes you feel any better, I’d rather a 9-5 job.
@ Marites - Congrats on making the switch over to Wordpress. Don’t be jealous, full-time blogging isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
MCF 08.21.08 at 9:10 pm
Darn, I knew this seemed familiar. I’ve done something like this before, except instead of six I listed FIFTY. Which is funny because it originated as a TITMT in which Janet was only asking for FIVE. I’m sure I’ve done other variations of this too; Lorna has this six quirks one up about a month ago and I could swear I did it then, though I couldn’t locate the post. I guess we’ll call that 51.
Lyndon 08.21.08 at 9:29 pm
@ MCF - That was a lot of quirks! I guess I didn’t do that TITMT!
Scott 08.22.08 at 8:38 pm
Only six? Not sure I can pare it down that far.
Lyndon 08.23.08 at 3:37 pm
@ Scott - You can do as many as you like
Tricia 08.27.08 at 9:30 pm
I finally got around to making my post. Come see how quirky I am! LOL
Tricias last blog post..I’m So Unspectacular
